MARLON BOWEN and Don Morris scored two goals each as Superstar Rangers unleashed an 8-1 battering of cellar-placed Media 21 FC in the Sportworld Super League yesterday. The supporters who turned up at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo saw a goal blitz, as Bowen began and ended the scoring, in the sixth and 67th minutes respectively.

The veteran Morris netted in the 33rd and 40th minutes, while Akudu Goodridge (25th), Josimar Belgrave (38th), Marc Borde (47th) and Sayid Freitas (64th) chipped in with one apiece for Rangers, who remain in fourth spot with 36 points.

Ken Guy got the lone response for Media 21 in the 31st.

The prolific Neri Joseph equalised in the 74th minute as Police fought back to hold WASA Clean & White to a 1-1 draw at the WASA Ground, St Joseph.

Police stayed third on the standings with 37 points while WASA, who got a 65th minute opener from Darin Lewis, remained fifth with 34.

There was an unfortunate ending to the Maraval Youth Academy-PLIPDECO Caroni contest at the Trinity College Ground, Moka, Maraval. Caroni held a 2-1 lead before Maraval’s Joel Felician suffered a neck injury in the 90th minute.

Due to the length of time it took for an ambulance to arrive at the ground, the officials were forced to rule the game as an abandoned result.

And the scheduled battle between Couva Players United and Stokely Vale, at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, was cancelled due to flight problems which affected the Tobago-based outfit.
