Rajesh Latchoo, head coach of the Trinidad and Tobago National Under 15 girls team has paid tribute to his staff members and parents of the players which performed creditably at the CONCACAF Championship where they finished in third place in the Cayman Islands on Sunday.

T&T drubbed Honduras 5-2 in the third place playoff after narrowly losing 1-0 to eventual champions Canada in the semi-finals.

“During the tournament the staff here functioned efficiently with the limited resources. The girls were well managed and represented the country with utmost decorum. I am proud of every player and staff member. This victory was not just because of tournament duty but was achieved only through the dedication and commitment of all members since February 2014 to now. I wish every one could have been here in this tournament. I know the team was being cheered on from T&T,” said Latchoo.

“Please remember that tonight's victory is a result of every one's hard work.

I look forward to continue working with the staff in the future. The WoLF league and SPoRTT played a huge part in the teams preparation and special thanks must go to them,” Latchoo said in a letter to the members, also thanking the TTFA for enabling the team to appear at the Championship.

“Our object as mentioned was to place in the top four and we did so by finishing 3rd. We also have a good gauge on how narrow or small the gap between Canada and Trinidad and Tobago really is at the U-15 level. With the right resources and support this U-15 team can become the next power house of the Caribbean.

“The girls look up to the senior women players and dedicated their achievement to all the past and present older players who paved the way for them. They will be supporting the seniors die-hard and know they are our proud flagship of women's football,” Latchoo ended.
