THE TOP four teams in the 2011-2012 Digicel Pro League season are jostling for two qualification spots for the 2012 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championships.

Only the top two Pro League teams, at the end of Round Two Match Day Seven, will be eligible to compete in this year’s CFU Club Championships, which is a pre-qualifier for the 2012-2013 Concacaf Champions League.

W Connection are now the top team in the Pro League, with 21 points, followed by Caledonia AIA on 20, while TTEC and San Juan Jabloteh have 19 points apiece.

Jabloteh are due to face Defence Force, the reigning Pro League champs, today at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Arima while Connection are set to meet Police at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, TTEC and Caledonia are expected to square off at Arima.

So it is a race to the finish, as far as the CFU spots are concerned, and it will be of added importance that the pair of participating TT teams do well, as both Defence Force and Caledonia AIA were unable to advance from the 2011 CFU Club Championships to the 2011-2012 Concacaf Champions League.
