After an undefeated week on the pitch, junior Ehjayson Henry was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Co-Player of the Week and sophomore Greg Ranjitsingh was voted the A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week.

The weekly conference honors are the second for Henry this season, the third for Ranjitsingh and moves Mercer's A-Sun leading weekly award tally up to six in 2012.

Henry had a breakout week for the Bears, continuing his hot streak of recording at least two points in three of his last four games. Henry scored a goal and assisted on another in Mercer's 2-1 over Northern Kentucky on October 25. He followed up that performance by scoring the game-winning goal in the 81st minute play to help Mercer come away with a 2-1 road win at USC Upstate on October 28. The Harris Village, Saint Kitts native now leads the team and ranks second in the A-Sun with 14 points this season.

Ranjitsingh continues to be solid in net, serving as the anchor for a Mercer defensive unit that's ranks as one of the best in the country. Ranjitsingh collected two wins on the week after allowing just two goals while making nine saves in the process. For the season, Ranjitsingh leads the A-Sun Conference in goals against average (0.87), save percentage (.837) and shutouts (7).

Mercer (11-5-1, 6-1-0 A-Sun) now leads ETSU by three points and FGCU by six points in the A-Sun Conference standings heading into the final week of league play. Due to the Bears pair of wins this past week, they can finish no worse than second in the league and are still in the driver's seat to win the A-Sun regular season title as well.

Henry, Ranjitsingh and the rest of the Bears conclude their 2012 regular season in Macon against Florida Gulf Coast on November 3. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Bear Field and will serve as senior night for six seniors.
