The complete 2013/2014 schedule for the Group Stage of the CONCACAF Champions League was released earlier today by the tournament organizers.
Set to begin just over a month from today in the first week of August 2013, local football giants DIRECTV W Connection FC who were drawn in Group 1 along with The Houston Dynamo of the American MLS and Arabe Unido of Panama will meet each team twice in a home and away series for the group stage which kicks off on August 6th 2013.
The Savonetta Boys will travel to Panama where they will play their first away match on Thursday August 8th against Arabe Unido who currently compete in the Liga Panamena de Futbol; the highest football league in Panama.
Less than two weeks later the boys in green and white will host the Houston Dynamo of the United States MLS on Tuesday August 20th. They will play their second home game a month later on Tuesday September 19th 2013 hosting Arabe Unido; both venues to be announced at a future date.
This being his sixth campaign at the CONCACAF level, Technical Director and Head Coach Stuart Charles Fevrier is optimistic that his boys can achieve their objective of winning the group. Of his opponents Fevrier concedes that they will be challenging, but it is a challenge that he is up for.
The DIRECTV sponsored team will end the first stage of their Champions League campaign on the road where they will meet the Houston Dynamo’s on Wednesday 25th September at the BBVA Compass Stadium; the same venue for the CONCACAF Gold Cup Group B matches in which the Trinidad and Tobago Men’s Senior team will play against Haiti, Honduras and El Salvador later this month.
