W Connection releases 30-man squad ahead of CCL kick-off.On Thursday 1st August, just one week before they are set to meet their first opponent in the CONCACAF Champions League (CCL), DIRECTV W Connection Head Coach and Technical Director Stuart Charles Fevrier named his 30 man roster.

Running just short of thirty names with a squad of 27, Fevrier has left room for three additions as the competition progresses. The Savonetta Boys will meet Arabe Unido on Thursday 8th August at the Rommel Fernandez Stadium in Panama.

The squad, which will be captained by National Team standout Joevin Jones, boasts six new foreign signings in the likes of 24 year-old Italian striker Mirko Delia, 21 year-old Brazilian right-back Joao Ananias Jordao Jr, Midfielder Celio Guilherme Da Silva Santos – 25 also of Brazil, and three Colombian additions spotted while on pre-season tour – 21 year-old Midfielders Yhon Reyes Lopez and Yefer Lozano Rubiano, and 23 year-old Striker Camilo Ortega Diaz.

Also included are youngsters Neil Benjamin and Jomal ‘Beebo’ Williams who were omitted from last year’s Champions League campaign due to National duties with the Under-20 Team.

While on tour, they played several training matches in preparations for their Champions League fixtures.

Against Club America, they were defeated 2-0, secured a win against FC Orsomarso with 4 goals to their 2 contributed by Neil Benjamin, Jerrel Britto, Silvio Spann, and Jomal Willams; as well as a 5 nil win over Deportivo Cordoba with goals by Neil Benjamin, Kurt Frederick, Andrei Pacheco, Celio Da Silva and Joevin Jones.

In their final training game on Sunday 4th against FC Florida, they were defeated 2-1 with the lone goal being scored by Mekeil Williams. The team is still on tour in Cali Colombia and will fly directly to Panama on Tuesday 6th August.
