SOCA WARRIORS GET SUPPORTERS BOOST…ahead of Iceland clash.

With the aim of having fans who will participate at games involving Trinidad and Tobago football teams, comparable to the standards that are commonplace in international football, the Soca Warriors Supporters Club has been formed. The Soca Warriors Supporters Club (SWSC), also known as “The Warrior Nation”, was incorporated on December 12, 2005 in Miami, FL. The club is a partner of www.socawarriors.net , in existence since 2000, which has been the online hub for news and discussion regarding national football teams for the past two World Cup qualifying campaigns and numerous CONCACAF Gold Cup and other regional tournaments.

With membership in the non-profit club becoming available from Monday, February 20, 2006, SWSC promises to be the driving force behind organized support for Trinidad and Tobago football teams wherever in the world they play. Fans in London will have the first opportunity to experience the Warrior Nation in the Senior Men’s National Team’s 2006 World Cup preparation game against Iceland on February 28, 2006.

Information about the Soca Warriors Supporters Club is available on the club’s website: www.thewarriornation.com or from local representative, Gilbert O’Connor, Jr. at 687-6010. The club’s elected Board of Directors is Nigel Myers (President, Treasurer), Denzil Streete (Vice President), Antonio Tobas (Secretary) and Anthony Valley (Member at Large). Local Olympic medallist and ardent football supporter, Ato Boldon is the Club’s Ambassador and www.socawarriors.net founder Inshan Mohammed is Executive Advisor.
