The Tobago Football Association (TFA) was recipient of a full set of women’s football kits, a donation made on behalf of the Warrior Nation, earlier this month. A California couple, Amanda and Ron Giles of Mountain View , made the uniforms available after collecting them for charity.

The kits were originally slated for youths in Iraq , but made their way to Trinidad and Tobago after the original logistics couldn’t be worked out. Mrs. Giles inquired on the neighborhood bulletin board if anyone could make use of them and as I had a planned departure for Trinidad & Tobago I agreed to take them and find a recipient through the Soca Warriors Supporters Club.

After discussion with the board and much appreciated assistance from fellow Warrior Nation member, David “Doc” Reid, who currently resides in Tobago , we chose to give the uniforms to the TFA for their women’s football program.

I met the president of the TFA, Mr. Harvey Jack, at the federation’s cramped quarters in the Fairfield Complex in Scarborough on Thursday, July 12th. I was also introduced to the TFA’s equipment manager, Maynard Grant, and head coach of the Bellaforma Angels as well as assistant coach of the T&T Women's U-20 team, Corbin Cooper. They were presented with fifteen numbered jerseys with shorts and matching socks. Also included were about a half dozen footballs. Mr. Jack was very thankful and indicated his hope that the team using the uniforms would wear them proudly.
