The dust is still very much settling around the revelation that Joevin Jones had unexpectedly skipped town in order to join the Trinidad & Tobago national team a full week ahead of the FIFA international break. While we still don’t know how this is going to shake out or what, exactly, Jones was trying to accomplish, we now have a better picture of what the potential outcomes are.

Left back Joevin Jones has left the Sounders without authorization to play for the Trinidad and Tobago national team in upcoming World Cup qualifiers, multiple sources confirmed Tuesday. The move by Jones means the Sounders will be without one of their top players for games Wednesday at Vancouver and Sunday against visiting Portland.

Boatswain debuts in Concacaf League.

T&T’s forward Jamille Boatswain made his competitive debut for Costa Rican club Alajuelense on Thursday night in their Concacaf League fixture away to Olimpia of Honduras. Boatswain came on in the second half of the 2-0 defeat for his club.
