The Charleston Battery has agreed to terms with two more players for the 2003 A-League season. 2001 A-League Defender of the Year, Rick Titus joins the Battery from Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids. Jamar Beasley comes to the Battery from Italian side, Puteolana; prior to Puteolana Beasley played for four years in Major League Soccer.

The 34-year-old, who became Ian McCall's latest signing at Dundee United last week, is speaking frankly about his relationship with Alex McLeish, his former manager, who now has the distinction of being the major protagonist in the messy endings the player has experienced at his previous two clubs. He was being strangled by the red tape of government bureaucracy, a result of war in Iraq and tighter restrictions put in place by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security after Sept. 11. Canadian-born Rick Titus signed a contract with the Battery on March 12, but didn't get clearance to enter the United States until this week.
