Defender hits out at Crewe manager.

Dennis Lawrence has criticised Crewe manager Gudjon Thordarson after his proposed move to the Alexandra Stadium fell through.
Former Swansea City defender Lawrence spent last season on loan at Crewe and impressed for the club despite their relegation to League Two.

Talks were under way over securing his services on a permanent basis but the Trinidad and Tobago international has confirmed he will not be re-joining Crewe.

"I gave my all for Crewe during my loan spell, so I am very disappointed to hear they no longer want me," said Lawrence in The Sentinel.

"It's important people understand I wasn't trying to be greedy.

"But I've not heard a word from the manager since he offered me the captaincy and involved me in his planning for next season.

"If that is the sort of man he is, then perhaps he has done me a favour."

Meanwhile, Thordarson has revealed he remains in the market for signings ahead of the new campaign.

He added: "I've moved on - I have been looking elsewhere for defenders. I am bringing two or three trialists in over the next few days.

"One is Scandinavian and the others are British-based."
