Kelvin JackKelvin Jack is set to sign for Southend United on a non-contract basis and be the club’s second choice goalkeeper for this Saturday’s clash with Tranmere Rovers.

Blues are currently without their usual reserve shot-stopper Ian Joyce who is on a seven-day trial with an American side.

And that means Jack, who has won 33 international caps for Trinidad and Tobago, will be named on the bench.

Jack left Gillingham in 2008 and has spent most of this training season with the Shrimpers to keep fit.
