Devorn Jorsling didn’t score in his third successive match but he helped the Orlando City advance to the third round of the US Open Cup by way of a hardfought 1-0 win over Charleston Battery on Tuesday.

Jorsling, after netting three goals in his previous two appearances, played the full 90 minutes while Kevin Molino was substituted at half time.

City had a first half scare when T&T US-based forward Randi Patterson broke clear but shot over bar with the goal at his mercy. Orlando now will travel to face FC Dallas of the MLS in the third round of the Open Cup on Tuesday.

Jorsling says he’s now confident in front of goal again.

“I came to this league with a reputation of scoring goals and it took me a while to get my first one here for Orlando. But now with three goals, my confidence is back and I feel like I’m going to convert anything I get in front of goal now.

It’s a great feeling and hopefully I can continue to bang in the goals and help the club move on further in the Cup and do well this season in the League as well,” said the ex-Defence Force forward.
