Back in Times - 1975 T&T team
« on: November 16, 2006, 01:23:04 PM »
This picture was taken just prior to a training session.

Questions:
1. Can you name the players?
2. What do you know about the team?
3. Who were the outstanding players?

At that time in our Football history we had just lost basically our hole national team, all those guys from the 73 squad got contracts or went abroad,in those days no one was coming back home to play for T&T or clubs was not releasing anybody, this team was all home based players,it did not accomplish much because preparation was inadiquate, not enough exposure to international competition.

How fast?

fast enuff to beat me...but only at 150...I only won the VL at QRC because, I also did High Jump, Long Jump, and when Gray beat me in the 200, ah jump in Shot putt, and Javelin, buh Mike Andrews(tink he in Miami now) buss meh tail in that.. Only one person beat Gray in our Time, Creed of Belmont- Texaco Games- Guyacara park..
Gray trained (by himself) twice a day, before an after school, I never meet such a serious athlete in T&T, especially at that age..We both striked for 2nd 11...and ah gave him ah through pass-50/50 and he get lik up...when the game done, ah apoligizin, an buffin im telling him he shouldna go for dat shit pass ah give him, he just smile as usual...then he ask "Who Win ?" as say "Wham to you man ?"...he ask. "Who we play "...is den we realize the man had a concussion yes...he had played the last 20 mins unconcious... :D...
when I read in the papers(3 wk late, in Canada), he was playing for T&T, from that day I worked on being the best I could be, and dreamed of re-uniting, our strike partnership....If only to give the man a better pass..

Yeah, a bounce him an Carter up in Baltimore Tourney, dis big belly fella hail meh and ask "Who win ?", ah nearly dead yes..

ps: He was one of the top students at QRC as well....l

Whatever you do, do it to the purpose; do it thoroughly, not superficially. Go to the bottom of things. Any thing half done, or half known, is in my mind, neither done nor known at all. Nay, worse, for it often misleads.
