SILVIO SPANN of Vibe CT 105 W Connection has been voted the “Most Valuable Player” in the First Citizens Bank Cup knockout tournament of the T&T Professional Football League.



At a presentation function on Thursday in the VIP Lounge of the Hasely Crawford Stadium, it was announced that Spann got the nod over leading goalscorer Kurt Williams of Defence Force.

Midfielder Silvio, son of former national player, Leroy “Spanner” Spann, played a vital role in helping WCFC to win the tournament final on penalty kicks over Defence Force.

W Connection collected the $35,000 first prize and Defence Force the runner-up $25,000 award.

Third-placed Starworld Strikers received $20,000 and fourth-placed North-East Stars $16,000.

Winner of the $5,000 first prize in the Rhythm Section Competition was Siparia Rhythm Posse, with Links Phythm Posse taking the $3,000 prize for second place and Defence Force the $2,000 for finishing third.
