WASA FC made the perfect start to the Emerald Apartments and Plaza sponsored Eastern Football Association (EFA) Premier Division after dropping Carib FC 7-0, at the St Augustine Secondary School Ground, on Saturday.

Keston Foster scored an impressive four goals in the encounter, one in the first half (32nd) and competed the rout in the second half (67th, 71st and 89th). Romano Rampersad opened the scoring in the 16th minute, before Jamal Johnson scored his only, and the team’s  third goal in the 42nd minute.

The score remained 3-0 at the half. The second half began with a quick flurry of goals, with Trevon Bobb scoring the team’s fourth in the 52nd minute. Foster went on to seal the exciting finish with his second half hat-trick for the title favourites.

In the other Premier Division matches, FC Maloney and St John’s United played to a goalless draw at the Maloney Recreation Ground, while Valtrin United defeated Malabar FC 1-0, through a Ricardo Allen first half goal.
 
Boss FC came from behind to drop La Horquetta SA 2-1. The latter team opened with a 30th minute effort from Keron Clarke for a 1-0 half time lead, before a brace from Anthony Applewhite in the 55th and 75th minutes, sealed a well worked comeback.

A total of 14 goals were scored in the three opening round First Division matches. Prisons eased past SKHY FC 4-0, while Creek SCC dropped Crompton by the same scoreline. FCM Supreme XI got the better of Atletico SI 4-2 in the other match.

General Secretary of the EFA- Neville Ferguson, meanwhile, has announced the invitation for applicant teams for the upcoming Under-12, U-14, U-16 and U-18 competitions.
