Jason Phillip scored the only goal of the match, a first-half effort, to guide Crown Trace to victory over league champion Moruga in the U-20 knockout semifinal of the 13th annual Carapichaima Youth Super League, last Sunday.
The win put Crown Trace into this Sunday’s title match when the club will be up against comfortable semifinal winner Cap Off Youths FC.
Cap Off, thanks to a first-half opener from Kareem Garcia, and second-half items from Neon O’Garro and Jaffet Williams, dropped Club Sando 3-0. The final will take place at Waterloo tomorrow from 4 pm.
All other finals will be contested today at the same venue. The under-11 and under-13 divisions will see both semifinal matches played before the later final.
Making an easy leap into the under-13 semifinal was Blast FC, which secured a 3-0 win again over Club Sando, this time with prolific forward Dwight Yorke on target yet again with a brilliant hat-trick.
South Centre for Excellence and FC Santos advanced to the U-17 final with wins over Marabella Family Crisis Centre (3-0) and Crown Trace FC (1-0), respectively.
