Talented John Paul Rochford played an instrumental role for Queen’s Royal College’s (QRC) Under-13 and U-15 teams as they won both divisions in the Tyro Sports Club Football competition last weekend.

In the U-13 final, Rochford scored one of QRC’s goals as they edged Jabloteh 2–1. Augustine Nikemolam netted the other item for QRC, while Stephon Marcano bagged the lone goal for Jabloteh.

Rochford was also in fine form in the U-15 division. In QRC’s semifinal match against Laventille Road Police Youth Club, Rochford’s double guided QRC to an easy 4–0 win. Kevin Campbell and Teraque Hadley also scored one each for the Royalians.

In the finals, a team effort led QRC to a convincing 4–0 victory over Tyro to clinch the U-15 division. Four players got their names on the scoresheet, which included Hadley, Campbell, T’Shard Selvon and Rondel Williams.

Rochford took home three individual prizes for his performance in the U-13 competition. He won the Best Captain award, Best Midfielder and the top prize of the Most Valuable Player.
