GEMS (GLOBAL Encounter Ministries) trounced Divine Encounter Ministries 7-0 last Saturday, as the first leg of the Churches Football League Round of 16 phase took place.

 

Dacien John registered a beaver-trick, Kylan Gay had a double and Dillon Lewis scored once for GEMS, who showed no mercy on their opponents on the day.

Daryl Jessop and Kashif Bascombe each scored twice as Cumuto hammered Woodbrook 6-0. Andre Maswell and Kevon Blake also found the target in the one-sided contest. Divine Destiny Sanctuary moved closer to the next phase after a 5-2 trouncing of Greater Malabar Christian Centre.

Marcus Lee Fouk and Ezra Connor notched two goals apiece with Raymond Pinda getting the other for Divine Destiny. Cathedral FC overcame Valencia Pentecostal Assembly 3-1 with items from Fedel Lewis, Colin Joseph and Keron Ash, while Michael Marcano replied for Valencia.

Karson Graham and Elisha Belgrave were the goal-getters as Church On The Rock whipped Khandahar Open Bible 2-0 while Curepe Amen got strikes from Kareem Andrews, Jarson Morris, Kerwin Hazel, Abraham Simmons and Ayinda Perouza got their names on the scoresheet during a 5-2 triumph over New Testament Warriors.

Reformation Life Centre earned a 3-0 default victory over AME Ball Players in their first leg contest while Westend were held to a 2-2 draw by Daybreak.

Kyle Andrews and Akeem Logan found the back of the net for Westend while Karoy Duke replied with a pair for Daybreak. The second leg of the Round of 16 will take place today.
