Trendsetter Hawks scored a double by winning both the Under-9 and Under-11 age groups in the 2013 Waterloo Institute of Soccer Players Football Fiesta held last Saturday at Waterloo Secondary School.
The Fiesta was contested in the Under-9 and Under-11 Boys age groups, and also an Open girls age group. Trophies and medals were awarded.
Contesting the boys Under-9 grouping were Trendsetter Hawks, Cap Off Youths FC, Ralph Coaching School, P & D Coaching School and Gairy John Coaching School.
The most competitive grouping was the Under-11 boys which was contested among 13 teams. Competing were Ralph Coaching School, Joe Public FC, Uprising Youths, P & D Coaching School, Marabella Family Crisis Centre, Cap Off Youths FC, El Socorro United, Trendsetter Hawks, Gasparillo Youths, Gairy John Coaching School, RSSR Football Academy, Ste Madeline Strikers and Moruga FC.
Four teams contested the girls competition, Waterloo Secondary, Fyzabad Secondary, Ministry of Sports Schoolaz A and Ministry of Sports Schoolaz B.
In the semi-finals, Trendsetter Hawks defeated Ralph Coaching School 2-0 and Gairy John Coaching School edged P & D Coaching School 1-0 to reach in to the final. That match was then won when Trendsetter Hawks edged Gairy John Coaching School 4-3. Ralph Coaching School won third place, with a 2-0 win over P& D Coaching School.
