CHURCH ON the Rock, the defending Churches Football League Knockout champions, advanced to today’s quarter-final round courtesy of a 5-2 aggregate victory over Reformation Life Centre.
Church on the Rock held a 3-2 lead entering last weekend’s second leg of the Round of 16 stage. And the 2013 winners triumphed 2-0 with items from Kareem Charles and Clevon McFee.
Awaiting Church on the Rock in the quarter-final stage are Cumuto Strike Force, who edged D’Abadie Deliverance Sanctuary 4-3 for a 7- 4 aggregate win.
Kevon Blake scored twice for Cumuto while Matthew Dufeal and Kashiff Bascombe got one apiece. Getting their names on the scoresheet for D’Abadie were Adrian Beharry, Ricardo Mathura and Joshama Bishop.
SFX Amen overcame a 1-0 first leg deficit to defeat Bethel FC 2-0 with Keon Gill and David Maloney finding the back of the net. Amen will now await the winner of the second leg between Caribbean Nazarene College and New Testament Warriors, with Nazarene College holding a commanding 9-1 lead after the first leg.
West End and KOB Kings battled to a goalless draw in their second leg, with West End prevailing 2-1 on aggregate, while Global Encounter Ministries spanked Fathers House 5-1 to advance 7-2 on aggregate.
In the second leg, Neal Joseph (twice), Keron Roach, Jevon Simon and Kyle Boneo scored for Global Encounter Ministries, while Kevin Stephens got Fathers House’s consolation.
West End will tackle Global Encounter Ministries while the other quarter-final will feature Daybreak United against the winner of Greater Malabar Christian Centre and Peoples United Fellowship.
