Defending Tobago Zone and national champions Bon Accord Government were eliminated at the quarter-final round of the Boys Under 15 division of the Atlantic LNG Primary Schools Football League competition at the Shaw Park Recreational Grounds, Shaw Park on Monday.

In the second match of a double header, Whim Anglican ended Bon Accord’s reign with a 3-1 defeat. The victory is revenge for Whim who lost last year’s zonal and national finals to Bon Accord.

In the earlier match of the day Montgomery Government routed Mason Hall Government 7-0. In the other quarterfinal matches played at Goodwood Charlotteville Methodist edged Hope Anglican 2-1 while Speyside Anglican prevailed over St Andrew 2-1, on penalty kicks after both teams were locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation time.

In the semi-finals set for today, Montgomery will face Charlotteville while Speyside will battle Whim. Despite their elimination in the under 15 category, Bon Accord advanced to the finals of the boys under 11 and girls open division.

In the under 11 semi-finals on Tuesday, Bon Accord and Whim advanced to the finals with Bon Accord getting past a determined Patience Hill Government team 3-0 at Jubilee Park in Sangsters Hill. Nigel Burnett led the way for Bon Accord with a double strike with Oshea Williams scoring the third item. Dominic Adams scored a double to lead Whim to a 5-0 whipping of Belle Garden Anglican at Dusty Park, Hope.

Among the Girls, Bon Accord dominated Belle Garden Anglican 6-0 at Jubilee Park on Tuesday, with Vernica London netting a hat-trick and top striker Anika Thomas a double. Keera Charles also got on the scoresheets for the winner. Bon Accord will play last year’s runners up Mason Hall Primary, who beat St Andrews Anglican 1-0 at Dusty Park.
