St George’s best U-15 team

The Under-15 team of St George’s College had an outstanding season in the Secondary Schoolgirls Football League. After copping the East Zone title, the “Georgian Family”, as they are popularly known, maintained their composure by going on to capture the national crown. In the East Zone final, St George’s whipped Bishop’s East 2-1; while in the National Zonal final it turned back the challenge of Point Fortin East Secondary, winning 3-1.

Debe High School has in recent years earned a reputation as a breeding ground for top female footballers in Trinidad and Tobago and look set to maintain their dominance in the Secondary Schools Football League for many seasons to come.

Taylor sews up hat-trick for Debe

A seventh minute goal by national U-17 player, Kayla Taylor, secured a Girls Secondary School National Intercol hat-trick for Debe High yesterday against Roxborough Secondary at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.It was Roxborough’s first attempt at a national title, though they looked the part against the defending champion for a large majority of the match, but could not find the back of the net even with the most promising of advances from their star striker, Nathalia Benjamin.

Debe High continued their march to another title for the 2010 season when they defeated Senior Division champion, Vessigny Secondary 1-0 in the BGTT Girls InterCol South Zone final at Skinner Park yesterday.
