BERTILLE ST CLAIR, the veteran former Trinidad and Tobago national coach, sat in charge on the bench, as a strong-looking Signal Hill Secondary rallied from a goal down to beat Scarborough Secondary 3-1 on Friday night at Mt. Gomery Recreational Ground, for their opening win in the Tobago Zone of the 2014 BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL).

However, both teams looked capable and the match was a very competitive one.

Scarborough’s Shakeel Rodney was busier of the two goalkeepers, as Signal Hill did most of the early attacking, especially through dribblers Akil Frank and Keiroy Murray.

Against the run of play, Scarborough took the lead when La Shawn Roberts used the back of his head to flick a floated pass over advancing Signal Hill keeper Akini Tremin in the 32nd minute for a 1-0 lead. But Signal Hill stormed back quickly just two minutes later, to level at 1-1.

Ackel Carrington beat Scarborough goalie Shakeel Rodney with a low shot to the corner from eight yards out and there were celebrations in the stands.

Signal Hill further cemented their increasing dominance when Antonio Pantin got them a pair of second half goals in the 69th and 86th minutes.
