St Mary’s College showed no mercy against Championship division’s Malick Secondary, yesterday, when the Saints marched on into the North Zone semifinal of the CocaCola InterCol competition with a 7–0 win.
The Saints booked their spot into Tuesday’s last-four stage, where they will meet Trinity College of Moka.
The newly-promoted Premier Division school, Trinity, dismantled Fatima College 3–1 at Fatima College Ground.
Next week’s other North Zone semifinal match will see St Anthony’s College meet East Mucurapo.
The last two Central Zone matches were carded to play yesterday, but were unable to because of a waterlogged Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.
They will instead be played today at two different venues.
ASJA Boys College and Miracle Ministries will meet in Carapichaima, from 3.30 pm, while Chaguanas North Secondary and Preysal meet at the Woodford Lodge, simultaneously.
The other last remaining quarterfinal matches will also be played in the South Zone, at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, from 2 pm. In the opening fixture, Presentation College of San Fernando will face off against Moruga Secondary, before St Benedict’s College and Fyzabad meet from 4 pm.
Meanwhile, the East Zone will kick off semifinal action in all the zones with a double-header at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima.
The opening match will see a mouth-watering contest between massive quarterfinal winners, San Juan North versus Arima North Secondary, from 2 pm, followed by a meeting between defending zonal and national InterCol champion, St Augustine Secondary and Trinity College East, at 4 pm.
