Coca Cola InterCol quarter-final matches yesterday stayed true to form, with no upsets in the three Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) zones that saw action. But national champions St Augustine Secondary was knocked out of the competition.

It rained goals in the South with 12 items in two encounters at Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella. Premier Division team Presentation College San Fernando hammered lowly Moruga Secondary 5-0, with Kyle Moodie doubling up for “Pres”, while his teammates Kareem Riley, Nate Brooks and Darnell Hospedales all got their names on the score sheets.

The other South encounter saw St Benedict’s College whip Fyzabad Secondary 5-2.

In Central, Chaguanas North stepped up from a 1-0 halftime lead to cruise home 4-1 against Preysal Secondary at Hugo Francis Ground in Chaguanas.

Matthias Williams’ hat-trick made it an easy day for Chaguanas North along with an Isaiah Cadogan penalty, while Leon Gilmore got Preysal’s consolation goal.

And ASJA Boys needed a penalty shootout to edge Miracle Ministries after the teams played out a 0-0 regulation scoreline at Carapichaima East.

A Larry Gomes Stadium double-header in the East saw San Juan North Secondary tame Arima North Secondary 3-1, but Trinity East had to work harder to end St Augustine Secondary’s season and their title defence with a 1-0 triumph at the Malabar venue.
