E-mail Print PDF

The Digicel Kick Start Clinic rolls into Trinidad today, with former England and Liverpool Football Club star John Barnes heading the event, beginning tomorrow. Barnes, whose tenure as head coach of Jamaica's "Reggae Boyz" just ended, will first visit the Caledonia AIA Youth Football Club at the Morvant Recreation Ground from 9 a.m. today to deliver a motivational speech.

From there, Barnes will head to St Mary's College Ground on Serpentine Road for the opening session with the T&T Under-17 team.

The second session of the Clinic will take place from 2.15 p.m. tomorrow, followed by a friendly match between a Pro League Youth Invitational team and the Trinidad and Tobago Under-17 national team.

At the end of the Digicel series of clinics, eight players from across the region will have the chance to travel to English Premiership club Sunderland AFC in September to train for a week.
