Dennis turned into one of the most improved players in the country during the 2002 World Cup qualifying series. Following his draft into the squad by Ian Porterfield, the Defence Force man had settled nicely into the team's defense. Several British clubs including Newcastle United, Hibernian, Sheffield United and AFC Bournemouth were tracking him in 2000 but he eventually signed for Wrexham in February, 2001.
