Dennis turned into one of the most improved players in the country during the 2002 World Cup qualifying series. Following his draft into the squad by Ian Porterfield, the Defence Force man had settled nicely into the team's defense. Several British clubs including Newcastle United, Hibernian, Sheffield United and AFC Bournemouth were tracking him in 2000 but he eventually signed for Wrexham in February, 2001.

An imposing defender standing 2m tall, Dennis Lawrence will be remembered best for his winning header against Bahrain in the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ Asia/CONCACAF play-off which sent his country to Germany 2006.
Signed by Welsh club Wrexham in February 2001, he was their 2003/4 player of the season. He was also named the most valuable player at the 2001 Copa Caribe.
A regular during the ‘Soca Warriors’ 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, he also featured in the 2002 campaign and the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
