Trinidad and Tobago’s Under 20 footballers will tackle Canada’s Under 20s in a training match at the Sunrise Holiday Inn, Fort Lauderdale from 3:30pm today (Thursday).

The T&T Under 20 team, under head coach Zoran Vranes arrived in Ft Lauderdale on Wednesday for a short training camp ahead of their Concacaf qualifying final round in April. The draw for the tournament also takes place today.

“It’s a good match for us at this stage of our preparations,” Vranes told TTFF Media.

“We know Canada and they know us but both teams will use the game to get ourselves ready for our qualifying matches next month. It is possible that we can meet them in the later stages of the tournament.”

T&T will face Canada in another friendly on Friday.

The finals in Guatemala City is now scheduled for March 28 to April 10 due to a stadium schedule conflict.

The event will be played at the   Estadio Nacional Mateo Flores, a 30,000-capacity venue used for Guatemala national team matches, and the 16,000 Estadio Cementos Progreso, which serves as home to Guatemalan club Comunicaciones.

For the draw, host Guatemala will be placed in a pot with Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Costa Rica, who replaced disqualified El Salvador, will join Honduras, Panama and Trinidad & Tobago in another pot, while Cuba, Guadeloupe, Jamaica and Suriname will make up a third.

One team from each pot will be drawn into one of the four first-round groups in a ceremony at the Intercontinental Hotel to be conducted by CONCACAF Deputy General Secretary Italo Zanzi and UNCAF General Secretary Mario Monterrosa.

Four teams from the CONCACAF finals will advance to this year's U-20 World Cup in Colombia July 29 to
August 20.
