MALABAR FC copped two victories in the space of three days, to move up to fourth spot on the standings, as action continued in the Emerald Apartments and Plaza Premiership Division of the Eastern Football Association (EFA) 2011-2012 season.

On Tuesday, at St Augustine, Malabar came from two goals down to blank hosts Carib FC 4-2.

Darian Gill broke the deadlock after 25 minutes while Tennyson Ragoonath doubled the lead in the 30th.

But David Powers brought the game back on even terms with a pair, in the 31st+ and 49th minutes.

Casey Latapy netted the go-ahead goal on the hour-mark while Gorean Highley completed the resurgence for Malabar FC in the 79th.

Two days later, Malabar trounced hosts WASA FC by a 4-0 margin at the WASA Ground, St Joseph.

Kevon Cornwall (14th and 67th) led the way with a double, while Jimal Patron (31st) and Nicholas Armstrong (69th) chipped in with one apiece.

The defeat for WASA came 48 hours after they earned a 2-1 win at home to Joe Public. In that encounter, Brian Martin (30th and 60th) scored twice but Kernatar Morris (82nd) pulled one back for Joe Public.

Unfortunately for Joe Public, they lost two games in a row - on Thursday they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Valtrin United at the NUGFW Ground, Valsayn, with Keston Henry netting the winner in the 59th.

The quarter-finals of the Emerald Apartments and Plaza Cup competition will take place this Thursday.

At 4pm, FC Santa Rosa will visit Tunapuna Titans at Constantine Park, Macoya; St John’s United will host Malabar FC at St John’s Road, St Augustine while Boss FC will be meeting Carib FC at the Morvant Savannah.

And, at 5pm, WASA FC will be entertaining FC Maloney at the WASA Ground, St Joseph.
