VALTRIN United played with style to overwhelm RSSR FC 6-1 in a Group One affair in the Eddie Hart Football League (EHFL) last Thursday night at the Eddie Hart Savannah (EHS) in Tacarigua.

Playing the last game of a doubleheader, striker Dwight Crichlow tormented the RSSR defence to score three times to take his tally to five, the same as Ellis Dyatt of MAASH Internationals in the early race for the Golden Boot.

Nippy Michael Hospedales completed Valtrin's dominance of the 80-minute game with a double to move his tally to three.

Nathan Lewis registered his second of the season when he opened the floodgates for the 2006 champions within the first five minutes of the opening touch.

And led by Crichlow, who had a double in the first period, Valtrin controlled the remainder of the session and the second period to take the points.

They were comfortably in front 3-0 going into the break. Nathan Isaac scored a deserved consolation item for persevering RSSR, who lacked the forward thrust to complement their work in midfield.

In the first game, Arima Combined trounced St Joseph United 4-1 in a one-sided contest from Group Three.

Solomon Blake helped himself to a brace, while there were strikes for Jesse Martinez and Dale Jameson. Seon Charles netted the lone item for St Joseph, whose record now stands at three losses, a win and a draw.

On Wednesday, First Engineering Battalion suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in Group Two after they went under 3-0 to Petit Bourg Youths.

Keon John, Richard Gogrie and substitute Devon Lewis provided the goals for Petit Bourg who picked up their first win of the season from three outings. The win advanced them to six points.

In the other game on the day, defending champions Parliament FC made a couple poor changes which caused them to surrender a two-goal half time lead and share the spoils in a see-saw  3-3 draw with  a determined Dingle Boys line-up .

The champs' biggest blunder came with their substitutions, especially the replacement of right back Tishan Forbes by Garth Jacob, who must shoulder the blame for the goals, along with the coaching staff.

Dingle Boys, late replacements for Cadet Force United, had conceded ten goals in their opening contest with Santos FC. So the players and their fans cherished the occasion at the final whistle.

High-flying Arsenal made it four-in- four following a 1-0 win over Pacemakers on Tuesday night.

The win pushed the Santa Cruz-based side to the top of Group One with a maximum of 12 points, while Valtrin are in second spot with seven  from four games. Spain Slappers and Pacemakers are third and fourth with six and four points respectively.

Trincity Nationals extended their losing streak to four following a 4-1 flogging by St John United in Group Three. Shane Rodriguez, Aron Peters, Akiel Pereira and M.Lovelace put their names on the scoresheet for St John. Andron Warrick scored his first goal for Nationals in a long while.

After three matches, unbeaten El Do Milan lead the pack in Group Three with nine points. St John (six) occupy second berth on goal difference over Arima Combined. Bon Air FC (four) hold third place by virtue of a superior difference over and 1TTR, who have played three games, one more than Bon Air.
