Angelo Murphy of bmobile Joe Public and Ethan Robinson of 1st FC Santa Rosa were named the top players of the inaugural National Youth Football League, a Fifa initiative as part of the ‘Win With Concacaf” programme.

When the awards function took place last week, Murphy was named “Most Valuable Player” in the Under-15 Division with Robinson taking the award in the Under-17 Division.

Both players received a $500 gift certificate for sporting equipment. The gift certificates for sporting equipment, trophies and medals valued $36,000 were distributed by All Sport Promotions, the company retained to manage the programme.

Joe Public and 1st FC Santa Rosa took the top honours as the All Sport Promotions-sponsored National Youth League held its 2009 award ceremony recently.

In the Under-15 Division, Joe Public claimed first place, followed by Santa Rosa and Harlem Strikers while, in the Under-17 category, Santa Rosa emerged victorious, ahead of Joe Public and Harlem.

Both the Under-15 and Under-17 groups featured ten teams participating in two rounds of action. Angelo Murphy of Joe Public (Under-15) and Ethan Robinson of Santa Rosa (Under-17) were adjudged as the Most Valuable Players (MVP) in their respective age groups.

Murphy and Robinson each collected $500 gift certificates for sporting equipments.

The Youth League is a FIFA initiative — as part of their ‘Win With CONCACAF’ programme — and this was the first year of the tournament. The gift certificates, trophies and medals, in excess of $36,000, were donated by All Sport Promotions.
