VALDEZ PEREZ and Shaquille McCletchie got their names on the scoresheet as 1976 FC Phoenix blanked Mayaro Spurs 2-0 in Group ‘A’ of the Under-18 playoff division, as the National Youth League continued on Monday.
Perez found the back of the net in the 43rd minute while McCletchie sealed the deal in the 88th, as Phoenix took full points.
In another Under-18 Group ‘A’ fixture, Club Sando and Joe Public battled to a 1-1 draw, with Kwame Gonzales opening the scoring for Sando, in the 65th minute, while O-Marly Williams equalised in the 80th.
Also on Saturday, Club Sando thrashed Joe Public 4-1 in an Under-16 Group ‘A’ playoff contest.
Aaron Dass netted a double, in the fourth and 65th minutes, while Kirby Brewster (33rd) and Juliano Lewis (74th) chipped in with one apiece. Frederick Commissiong pulled one back for Joe Public, in the 27th.
