With a new winner emerging out of the knockout competition, Stokely Vale, action will now resume with a full slate of matches in the blink/bmobile National Super League (NSL), today.

The most highly anticipated match of the day will see reigning league champion bmobile Joe Public travel to Westmoorings to meet fellow title challenger Westside Superstarz at 4 pm.

It will be a battle of the top two teams, where either one can find itself back at the top of the standings, granted newly-promoted and bottom placed Biche United pulls a great upset away from home against leader WASA in St Joseph. The clash kicks off at 4 pm.

The match of the round, however, will be Westside’s clash with Joe Public, at the former team’s home venue, St Anthony’s Ground, a facility familiar to Westside coach Nigel Grosvenor, who is also the headman of the successful St Anthony’s College team.

Last week, Stokely Vale exacted revenge on Joe Public, with an emphatic 3-0 win at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, in a rematch of the last year’s final in which Joe Public won.

However, Joe Public, the holder of three major titles last season, will be looking to bounce back from the disasterous result, against Westside, a team which it had already defeated handsomely in league action on the opening day of the season.

Before going on an excellent run in the league, Westside was hindered 5-1 by the champions at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, in only the first match of the season. Brent Antoine scored a double in that fixture, with Dorion Robinson, Dominic Hutchinson and Andre Toussaint all finding the back of the net.

Calvi Grazette scored Westside’s only goal in the first minute of action, before a comeback onslaught ensued.
