There were opening wins for Police and Cunupia FC when the 2016 Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) National Super League Qualifying Competition kicked off on Sunday.



At Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Central Zone champions Cunupia FC scored a 2-1 win over South champions Marabella Family Crisis Centre, while Police got the better of Matura Reunited by a 3-2 margin at Police Barracks.

A third match between Sidey’s FC and Malta Carib Alcons scheduled for Speyside Recreation Ground was rescheduled.

Six zonal champions of the third-tier local football associations are vying for two spots in the second-tier semi-professional, National Super League.
