Shaheed John got the lone goal as Edinburgh 500 FC edged Barrackpore United SC to take the early lead in the inaugural ten-team CNG National Super League Championship Division at Edinburgh 500 Recreation Ground, 7 pm.

John got his goal early at the 18th minute for the Central Football Association to pick up three points, two more than Queen’s Park, Saddle Hill Hotspur, T&T Prison, Cunupia FC, Petit Valley United FC and University of T&T, which all had settle for draws in their encounter.

The clash between Xtra Foods Chaguanas FC and Malabar FC was the lone fixture not to place due to a no show of officials while second round matches are carded for next week Tuesday.

Winners of the league will collect $140,000 while second gets $100,000, third $80,000 and fourth, $60,000.

In the 15-team Premier Division which is into the ninth round, the winners will walk away with $240,000; the runner-up gets $120,000, third, $100,000 and fourth $80,000.

All 25 teams, will contest the Super League Cup (Knockout) with $100,000 to the champion, $50,000 for second and $25,000 each to the losing semifinalist.
