CLUB SANDO Moruga advanced to the Second Round of the CNG National Super League Knockout competition on Sunday, after trouncing Edinburgh 500 FC 4-0 in their First Round battle at the Grand Chemin Recreation Ground, Moruga.

Silus Cooper broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute while Nigel John extended the lead five minutes later. Andre Phillips got Club Sando Moruga’s third goal in the 50th and Kyle Morgan completed the drubbing in the 90th. 

Rashard Griffith scored in the 47th and 89th minutes as FC Santa Rosa blanked the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT ) 2-0 at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya while Police eliminated Barrackpore United by a similar scoreline, with a pair from Dwight Elliott (22nd and 90th), at the St James Barracks. 

Stokely Vale, who have struggled to make a note in the 2015- 2016 National Super League, earned a 2-0 upset win over Queen’s Park at the Plymouth Recreation Ground. Khrishawn Joseph (16th) and Akeilon Murphy (59th) were the goal-getters for the hosts. 

Daniel Craig scored in the 55th as Bethel United ousted Saddle Hill Hotspur 1-0 at the Montgomery Recreation Ground; Matura Re United needed an 87th minute winner from Dorian Robinson to overcome Xtra Foods Chaguanas FC 1-0 at the Matura Recreation Ground and Cunupia FC edged Real Maracas FC 1-0 at the Maracas Recreation Ground in St St Joseph, with Jamal Spencer scoring in the 65th. 

In a keenly-fought encounter, WASA FC squeezed past Malabar FC 3-2 at the WASA Ground in St Joseph. Former national midfielders Michael-Lee Celestine (28th and 47th) and Akiel Guevara (53rd) found the back of the net for WASA, while Mikheil Peters (30th) and Jamal Osborne (64th) responded for Malabar. 

And NLCB La Horquetta SA earned a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over Petit Valley United 3-1 at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Arima. Eric Charles scored for Petit Valley in the 36th but La Horquetta responded with a pair from Anslem Jackson (74th and 84th) and one from Omeaku Barbour (86th). 

Second Round action will take place on October 11.
