MATURA REUNITED overcame an early setback to defeat Queen’s Park 3-2 on Sunday, in Match Day Three of the National Super League Premiership Division.

As a result, Matura ReUnited remain the only team with a 100-percent record, after three games. 

At the St Mary’s College Ground in St Clair, the Parkites went ahead through Jason Devonish in the 20th minute but Matura evened the scores on the stroke of halftime courtesy Shervin Charles. 

Zavion Navarro-Patron netted Matura’s second goal in the 65th and Dorian Robinson notched their third in the 84th. Kevaughn John pulled one back for Queen’s Park in stoppage time but Matura held on for full points. 

Sports and Games FC Santa Rosa moved up two places to second after a similar 3-2 win over Petrotrin Palo Seco at the Palo Seco Velodrome. Rashad Griffith (22nd and 77th) netted a pair while Gary Bart (90th) got the other for Santa Rosa, with Renefor Martin (59th) and Shackiel Henry (90th) responded for the hosts. 

WASA climbed from sixth to third after a 2-0 victory over Police at the WASA Ground, St Joseph. 

Former Trinidad and Tobago striker Gary Glasgow (24th) and Keston Jordan (58th) found the back of the net for WASA. 

Also in winners’ row were Club Sando Moruga, who took care of Marabella Family Crisis Centre by a 3-1 margin. Marcus John (30th) and Nigel John (36th and 90th) were on target for Club Sando Moruga, while Juma Clarence (90th) replied for Marabella. 

The other three games on Sunday all ended with 1-1 scorelines. 

At the Defence Force Headquarters in Chaguaramas, veteran Ryan Stewart broke the deadlock for Real Maracas with a 28th minute item but hosts Defence Force replied six minutes later through Aaron Lester. 

Bethel United needed an 80th minute equaliser from Kleon Melville to share the points with Siparia Spurs at the Mt Gomery Recreation Ground, following Chris Collins’ 26th minute opener. 

And, at the New Lands Ground in Guayaguayare, the home team Guaya United took the lead against 1976 FC Phoenix through Carlon Hughes after 29 minutes but Dominic McDougall knotted the scores in the 59th.
