Kerin Vincent netted  a late winner as Matura ReUnited came-from-behind to beat Marabella Family Crisis Centre 2-1 to regain top spot in the  T&T Football Association National Super League Premier Division on Sunday.

Starting the day in fourth spot, Matura Re United found itself trailing to a fourth minute opener for Marabella Family from Devon Drayton at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Training Field, Marabella,

However, that lead was short-lived as Kitwana Abosi drew Matura level in the 19th minute and with nine minutes left in the evenly matched contest, Vincent continued his good early season scoring form, with the decisive item.

The victory lifted Matura Re United to 18 points from nine matches at the top of the 14-team table after two of the previous top three teams, Sports & Games FC Santa Rosa, and Petrotrin Palo Seco both tasted defeated.

Up at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, previous table-topper, Santa Rosa fell to a shock 1-0 loss to Siparia Spurs courtesy a 34th minute strike from Andy London.

At the Maracas Recreation Ground, visitors Club Sando Moruga used a five minute spell to defeat Real Maracas, 3-2.

Aaron Peters handed Real Maracas a 38th minute lead, but in the second-half, Club Sando Moruga hit back with strikes from Nigel John (57th), Kyle Morgan (58th) and Glendon Phillip (62nd) for a 3-1 lead. Spurred on by its home crowd, Christian Thomas added a second item for Real Maracas in the 79th minute for 3-2 deficit, but in the end the visitors held on for the upset.

Over at Canaan Ground, Bon Accord, 1976 FC Phoenix whipped Petrotrin Palo Seco 3-1 with goals from Keston Agard, Shelton Williams and Aki Frank while Rennefor Martin netted a late consolation item for Petrotrin Palo Seco.

And at St Mary’s College Ground, Serpentine Road, St Clair, Chike  Phillip's 33rd goal was enough for Queen's Park to stun WASA FC 1-0. In the other match completed, Police FC got second-half strikes from Dwayne Salazar and Jasimar Ashers to blank last year's runner-up Guaya United FC 2-0 while the clash between Defence Force and Bethel United at Chaguaramas was postponed until September 9, due to a water logged field.

Matura ReUnited overtake Santa Rosa for top spot.

MATURA REUNITED overtook Sports and Games FC Santa Rosa for the top spot in the National Super League Premiership Division on Sunday.

In their Match Day Nine fixtures, Matura earned a come-frombehind 2-1 victory over Marabella Family Crisis Centre to jump from fourth to first place, while Santa Rosa fell to a 1-0 loss to Siparia Spurs.

As a consequence, Matura are have a tally of 18 points from nine games, one more than Santa Rosa.

At the Manny Ramjohn Stadium’s Training Field in Marabella, the Family Crisis Centre broke the deadlock in the fourth minute through Devon Drayton, but Kitwana Abosi evened the scores in the 19th.

The game seemed destined for a draw before Kerin Vincent netted the winning goal for Matura in the 81st.

Santa Rosa failed in their bid to maintain top spot as Andy London’s 34th minute goal gave Siparia full points at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.

Club Sando Moruga moved up two places to third after a hard-fought 3-2 win over Real Maracas FC at the Maracas Valley Recreation Ground, St Joseph.

The hosts took the lead in the 38th through Aaron Peters but Club Sando Moruga replied with three goals in the space of five minutes, from Nigel John (57th), Kyle Morgan (58th) and Glendon Phillip (62nd).

Christian Thomas netted Maracas’ second in the 79th but Club Sando Moruga held on to claim their fifth win of the 2016-2017 season.

Police cruised to a 2-0 victory over Guaya United at the St James Barracks, with Dwayne Salazar (60th) and Jasimar Ashers (63rd) getting their names on the scoresheet, while Queen’s Park needed a 33rd minute goal from Chike Phillip to defeat WASA FC 1-0 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium’s Training Field in Mucurapo.

Also on Sunday, Tobago FC Phoenix 1976 blanked Petrotrin Palo Seco 3-1 at the Canaan Recreation Ground.

Keston Agard (first), Shelton Williams (38th) and Akil Frank (67th) were the goal-getters for Phoenix, while Rennefor Martin (82nd) pulled one back for Palo Seco.

The meeting between Defence Force and Bethel United was abandoned due to a waterlogged outfield at the Defence Force headquarters in Chaguaramas.

This game will now be played on September 9. Premiership Division action will continue on August 14 with Match Day Eight fixtures.
