SHEM MCFARLANE netted a hat-trick as Superstar Rangers ended the season for Moruga Football Club by hammering them 7-0 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium as action in the National Super League knockout competition began yesterday.

Also battling their way to the second round were M&M Harvard, who whipped WASA Clean & White 3-1 in the opening match of the double-header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

At Arima, it took penalty-kicks to separate Tobago's Biwater Stokely Vale and Club Sando, who battled to a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Penalty specialist Warren Phillip booted the Tobagonians ahead from the spot in the tenth minute and they held the lead until Romeo Williams levelled the scores by getting a 67th minute goal for Club Sando.

After penalty kicks, Club Sando emerged 5-4 winners.

In the only other game yesterday, Angostura 1976 Phoenix were due to meet Maraval Youth Academy in a night match at Shaw Park.
