WASA moved into second spot in the bmobile National Super League standings courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix in a rescheduled fixture at Canaan, Bon Accord on Sunday.
WASA, the 2007 champions, and Joe Public are atop the 13- team points table with 25, but the “Eastern Lions” have the edge by virtue of more goals scored.

Michael Celestine put WASA ahead in the 12th minute before the prolific Dominique Kerr equalised for the hosts in the 47th. But another veteran, defender Vernon Bailey, notched the winner for WASA with 15 minutes remaining.

A waterlogged field at the Defence Force headquarters in Chaguaramas prevented any play between ALCOA Carenage United and Harlem Strikers. That game has been tentatively rescheduled for tomorrow.

Another pair of games will be staged tomorrow, with WASA hosting Club Sando at the WASA Ground, St Joseph from 4.15 pm while, 15 minutes earlier, Phoenix will be seeking to atone for Sunday’s loss when they meet the struggling Crab Connection at the San Juan Secondary Comprehensive Ground.
