Bevon Lewis scored with a minute left on the clock for T&TEC to salvage a 2-2 draw with WASA in their top-of-the-table bmobile National Super League clash at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, yesterday.

Both teams went into the match levelled on 19 points, however T&TEC led the 11-team standings based on less matches played.

With only eight minutes gone in the contest former national winger, Kevon Neaves got T&TEC into the flow of things scoring the opener which it carried into the interval.

Six minutes into the second-half though, Stevon Stoute drew the former champion, level at 1-1 before a Michael Lee-Celestine 68th minute strike handed the St Joseph-based team a 2-1 advantage.

But with a minute left in regulation time, T&TEC, runner-up last year in its debut season earned a share of the points via Lewis’ item.

With the point earned, T&TEC remained the only unbeaten team with 20 points from eight matches, the same as WASA which has played two matches more.

At the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, defending champion bmobile Joe Public closed to within two points of the leaders after slamming visiting Stokely Vale 7-0 led by a Dorion Robinson hat-trick.

The “Vale” played the final four minutes with 10 men after Kenton Robley was issued a second yellow card by referee Gyasi Mc Donald after being cautioned in the 56th minute as well.

At Dibe Ground, Long Circular Road, St James, St Francois Nationals came away with an entertaining 4-3 win over Valtrin to move into sole possession of fifth spot.

For St Francois, Akyl Griffith opened the scoring in the 12th minute before utility player, Rafer Ross hammered home a free-kick in the 26th minute for a 2-0 cushion.

Real Didier pulled a goal back for lowly Valtrin in the 35th minute but within three minutes, St Francois restored its two-goal lead thanks to Rondel John. Eight minutes after the resumption, Keron Edwards extended St Francois’ lead to 4-1.

Valtrin then hit-back with goals from Dwight Critchlow (63rd) and Nathan Lewis (83rd), but in the end they came up short.

Over in Tobago, the match between 1976 Phoenix and M&M Harvard was abandoned at Canaan, Bon Accord at the half, with the host ahead 2-0 while down at the Youth Camp Ground, Chaguaramas, the scheduled encounter between Defence Force and Club Sando did not play. (NS)
