Former champions Caledonia AIA defeated St Ann’s Rangers 2-1 on Tuesday at Ato Boldon Stadium to book a place in Friday’s quarter-final stage of the season-ending Digicel Pro Bowl knockout football tournament.

Caledonia, Pro Bowl winners in 2008 and runners-up in 2009 and 2012, won through early goals from Under-21 player Israel Honore and their top-scorer, Guyana international Purnell Schultz, before Rangers pegged one back in the final minute of regulation time with a goal from teenaged substitute Josh Toussaint.

Honore gave Caledonia a 1-0 lead within the first minute of play, celebrating his first top flight goal before regular goal scorer Schultz made it 2-0 by beating goalkeeper Christopher Biggette in the 18th minute.

Rangers however, were able to pull a goal back in the 90th minute, reducing the deficit with Toussaint slapping past the keeper after a forceful run and square pass from Kadeem Corbin, the MVP at the 2014 Caribbean Under-20 Championship.
