JO MARIE LEWIS did the hat-trick to pilot St Martin’s RC to a 4-2 victory over Carenage Girls’ Government in the Primary Schools Football League final on the Fatima College ground at Mucurapo on Wednesday.

Lewis scored in the third, sixth and 17th minutes to give St Martin’s a good early lead.

Sherry Ann Jackson increased the lead in the 18th minute and the three-time champion team St Martin’s ended the first half 4-0 ahead.

Carenage, fired up by the urgings of new coach Kaedee Joseph and former coach Abeyola Akowe, responded by scoring twice through Natasha St Louis, sister of national player, Tasha St Louis. However, it was too little to late.

In the other final, the Carenage Boys Government School atoned for the defeat of their sister school by beating Hockett Baptist 3-1.

Michael Forde, top player of Hockett Baptist, scored the team’s lone goal in the sixth minute to send the Morvant supports into a frenzy. However, Johan Peltier, David Roberts and Samuel Delice scored a goal each for Carenage to win the team title for the second time.
