DWIGHT YORKE, named after the legendary Trinidad and Tobago captain and striker, found the back of the net to guide Arima Boys RC to a 3-1 victory over Valencia South Government on Wednesday, at the Arima Municipal Stadium, as the National Primary Schools Football League entered its quarter-final phase.

Gabriel John and Kishon Hackshaw also found the back of the net for the defending champions Arima, while Tevin Garcia was the lone goal-getter for Valencia.

At the same venue, Cumana Anglican defeated Dinsley Trincity 3-2 in a girls quarter-final meeting. Curiene Lamorelle netted a double while Takiyah Nurse got the other for Cumana, with Adanya Phillip scoring twice for the losers.

Two quarter-final matches also took place at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya. In a girls fixture, Montgomery Government spanked St David’s RC 3-0 courtesy of a double from Aleeah Ashby and one from Aalliyah Charles.

And, in a boys contest, Bon Accord Government got past Siparia Boys RC 2-1. Javon Williams and Kjuan John found the back of the net for Bon Accord while Tyrell Baptiste got the consolation item for Siparia.

There were also quarter-final action at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella. Santa Flora Government eliminated Eastern Boys Government 3- 1 while, in the girls, St Agnes Anglican whipped Guayaguayare RC 2-0.

Last Thursday, the other quarter-final double-header was scheduled for the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, with reigning girls winners Vos Government meeting Mason Hall Government and Carenage Boys battling Whim Anglican.
