Vranes and Latapy teams off to GuyanaTrinidad and Tobago’s Men’s Senior Team and Under 20 men’s team will depart for Georgetown on Friday morning to take part in the Kashif and Shanghai inaugural President’s Cup against Guyana’s national teams at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence on Sunday.

Russell Latapy will travel with the same squad of 20 players which defeated Antigua 1-0 and St Lucia 3-0 last week while Zoran Vranes will lead the national under 20 team for their friendly against Guyana’s national under 20s.

Some of the overseas-based players in Guyana’s team include JP Rodrigues, Christopher Bourne, Fabian Browne and English-based pro Jason Lloyd, son of former West Indies cricket captain Clive Lloyd.

Guyana’s coach Wayne Dover said he was confided that the hosts could upset the visiting “Soca Warriors”.

Meantime, T&T manager David Muhammad added: “We are not expecting an easy match from them (Guyana). We know their venue will be filled with passionate supporters and our players are no strangers to this.

They have some players that have played against us before both at the international and club level so in that regard I expect the encounter to be a well contested one. We are taking the same players who went to Antigua and we expect that they will get the job done as we continue our preparations for the Digicel Caribbean Cup.”

Meantime Vranes, with Hutson Charles and Dale Saunders as his assistants, will have the likes of experienced defenders Sheldon Bateau and Akeem Adams in his line up with Johan Peltier, Jerrel Britto and Reshad Wint also in the squad.
