Debe High School proved their form in the 2009 Secondary Schools Football League Girls Championship is just as impressive as their dominant season last year, hammering Moruga Secondary 16-0 on Thursday at Debe.

National youth player Kayla Taylor tortured Moruga with six goals, while fellow T&T players Elizabeth Ng Wai (four goals) and Mariah Shade (two) added to the huge tally, along with Patrice Vincent (3) and Amanda Theodore (1).

The other two South encounters featured much narrower victories for Holy Faith Convent and Point Fortin East Secondary, who defeated Pleasantville Secondary 2-0 and Fyzabad Anglican 1-0, respectively.

Providence continued their unbeaten run in the North Zone, with a 8-1 thrashing of Malick Secondary at the Queen's Park Savannah.

Akiesha De La Rosa registered a beaver-trick for Providence and Stephanie Woo Ling, two. Malick's lone item came off the boot of national Under-20 player Afiya Matthias.

St Joseph's Convent also put big numbers on the scoresheet, coming from a goal down to win by a similar 8-1 scoreline against Corpus Christi College at Diego Martin.

Ashley Quashie put Corpus Christi ahead, but St Joseph's responded with goals from Stephanie Du Coudray, Megan Murray and Tiana Bateau, for a 4-1 half-time advantage. Murray finished with three goals, while Bateau notched a brace for her side.

The other North Zone match-up saw Maple Leaf International register a 3-0 triumph over Blanchisseuse at the Savannah. Two goals from Joline Mendez and another from Alix De Verteuil sealed the shut-out win for the Petit Valley team.

In the East, St Augustine Secondary up-ended Bishop Anstey 9-1, while St George's Convent drew 1-1 with San Juan North Secondary, and El Dorado East's "Blue Thunder" girls sorely missed their national Under-17 players, who are not allowed to play schools football on weekdays.

"El Do" were shocked 2-1 by Toco Secondary.

And in Tobago, Scarborough Secondary defeated Mason Hall 6-0 at Bon Accord, while Roxborough whipped Bishop's High School 5-1.

Harmon High defaulted against Signal Hill after failing to turn up for the match at Calder Hall.
