Arima North Secondary grabbed their first win of the Secondary Schools Football League's East Zone Girls Championship 2010 season when they defeated Toco Secondary 4-1 at Arima.

Shanicar Diamond doubled up for Arima in the first 13 minutes, while Ashley Mark added another goal in the 40th.

Toco's response came from the penalty spot, where captain Minty Cruickshank, their last stopper, slammed home a spot kick in the 17th.

Play had barely started when Diamond lobbed home Arima's first goal, a free kick that got the better of Toco goalkeeper Monique Robinson.

Diamond beat Robinson with another right-footed aerial ball in the 13th, a shot from beyond 18 metres that the 'keeper tried to take over her head, but it dropped behind her into goal.

Four minutes later Toco were back in the match via Cruickshank's penalty.

Arima restored their two-goal advantage just before the break, Mark coming out first in a one on one play with Robinson.

The home team also dominated in the second half. And despite Ruth Wiseman's two misses from strong scoring positions, Arima added a fourth item, Mark springing the offside trap and slicing the ball home.

Also in the SSFL East Zone, El Dorado East Secondary were scheduled to face St Augustine Secondary yesterday at the Eddie Hart Ground in Tacarigua, but St Augustine failed to show for the encounter.
