Debe High scrapped its way to the South Zone title of the BGTT Girls’ Secondary Schools Football League yesterday, winning on goal average, after they were held to a two-all draw against Point Fortin East Secondary.

The match was a virtual final, with both teams securing maximum points (12) from their previous matches, however, Debe finished with 17 goals to Point Fortin’s 11.

National U-17 midfielder, Kayla Taylor scored both of Debe’s goals, pulling her side back on both occassions when they found themselves behind.

Point Fortin East exploited national U-17 goal keeper, Linfah Jones’ 5 foot 2 inch height, with long range shots by national U-17 defender, Camille Charles and Shanice James, which saw Jones concede her first two goals for the season and four in her three years as Debe’s keeper.

The InterCol champion, will now look to defend its Big Four title in the competition which begins on Sunday.
