St. Mary's edge St. Anthony's 2-1 in battle of the Saints
 
St Anthony's went down to St Mary's on Saturday by 2-1 at a waterlogged St Anthony's Grounds. The wet conditions only made life more difficult for both sets of players but St Mary's just about deserved the win after outplaying St Anthony's for larger periods of the game.

Forward Anton Gill of Carapichaima has made a superb start this season. After two matches, he has scored eight goals and he is not only the leading scorer in the Central Zone, but the overall leader in the BG T&T Secondary School Football League.

Last season’s “giant-killers” Carapichaima will be no pushover again this year in the BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League, according to coach Lawrence Rondon. The Central Zone champion team will start the defence of its zonal title today against Gasparillo at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, from 3.45 pm. Carapichaima drew a bye in its opening match on Tuesday while Gasparillo turned back Waterloo 3-1 in an upset. Carapichaima will be without the services of forwards Neil Woodroof, Andre Mohammed, Phillip “Judah” Wickham and stopper Andre Nichols. But coach Rondon has found a reliable replacement for Nichols in Kevin Dick, formerly of Waterloo, and is awaiting the arrival of three top players from other schools.
